领会天父的心意（09）麦氏将军祷告

【雅各书 5:16】
义人祈祷所发的力量是大有功效的。

麦克阿瑟将军为儿子的祷告：

主啊！求祢塑造我的儿子，
使他坚强到能够认识自己的软弱；

使他勇敢到能够面对惧怕；
在诚实的失败中，毫不气馁；
在胜利中，仍保持谦逊温和。

恳求祢塑造我的儿子，
不至空有幻想而缺乏行动；

引导他认识祢，同时又知道，
认识自己乃是知识的基石。

我祈祷，
愿祢引导他不求安逸、舒适。
相反的，
经过压力、艰难和挑战，
学习在风暴中挺身站立，
并学会怜悯那些在重压之下失败的人

求祢塑造我的儿子，
心地纯洁，目标远大；
使他在指挥别人之前，
先懂得驾驭自己；

永不忘记过去的教训，
又能伸展未来的理想。

当他拥有以上的一切，
我还要祈求，
赐他足够的幽默感，
使他能够认真严肃，
却不致过分苛求自己。

恳求赐他谦卑，使他永远牢记：
真正伟大中的平凡，
真正智慧中的开明，
真正勇力中的温柔。

如此，我这作父亲的，
才敢低声说：「我没有虚度此生。」
奉主耶稣基督大能的名，阿们！

Oh Lord! Mold my son to be strong enough to know when he is weak; make him brave enough to face his fears; Do not be discouraged in an honest failure. Still remain humble and gentle in victory.

Mold my son whose dreams will not take the place of deeds; Lead him to know thee, and at the same time to know himself as the foundation stone of knowledge.

Lord please guide him not to ask for ease or comfort instead through stress,hardship and challenge help him to learn to stand up in the storm and learn compassion for those who fail under pressure.

Mold my son whose heart will be pure and whose goal will be high; Let him master himself before he masters others; Never forget the lessons of the past, but also expand the ideal of the future.

And when he has all these things, I pray, give him enough of a sense of humor.

Give him humility, so that he may always remember the simplicity of true greatness, the openness of true wisdom, and the meekness of true strength.

Then I, as a father, will dare to whisper, "I have not lived in vain."

In the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen!
